Ian Rapoport of NFL Network is reporting this morning that “there is growing frustration among the players about the coaching and the lack of adjustments.”

That may or may not be true, but what is undisputed is that the Cowboys today reacted with a few personnel moves.

Darren McFadden will be released today, and the understanding seems to be that this will still allow him to find a job with another team and perhaps get some playing time this year. McFadden had been inactive in two of the three games without Ezekiel Elliott, and the former first-round pick was clearly relegated to the No. 3 RB spot behind former sixth-round pick Alfred Moris and UDFA Rod Smith.

Anthony Brown has reportedly been benched after starting 10 of 11 games so far this season. The Cowboys have not announced who’ll be taking his starting spot, but it will likely be Jourdan Lewis.

And in the third move of the day, the Cowboys signed pass-rusher Datone Jones. A first-round pick for the Packers in 2013, Jones recorded nine sacks in four years in Green Bay before signing with the Vikings this offseason. He was released by the Vikings with an injury settlement in September after battling a shoulder injury in training camp. In October, the Lionssigned him, but his stint in Detroit was brief, as he was released after just one week. The 49erssigned him a short while later, and he actually played in three games for them before being waived to make room DT Sheldon Day, who the 49ers signed off waivers from Jacksonville.

Listed at 6’5″ and 288, Jones will likely help the Cowboys on the interior of the defensive line.
